Anderson
Managing PartnerPrior to founding Redpoint eventures, the first Brazilian venture capital fund established in collaboration with Silicon Valley VC firms, Anderson Thees was the CEO of Apontador, the leading local search and geolocation company in Brazil. He previously launched and led the Latin American internet conglomerate for Naspers/NIH. Earlier in his career, he worked as a technology entrepreneur and a software developer in Brazil and Switzerland. While at Naspers, Anderson invested in and held executive positions in large companies such as Buscapé and Movile. Prior to Naspers, he was an Investment Officer at Eccelera, a venture capital fund.
Anderson holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Unicamp, a MBA from Yale University, and a certificate from Stanford University’s executive education program.
Since 2013, he has been a board member and currently serves as the chairman of BayBrazil’s executive board and since 2003 has been a volunteer mentor at Endeavor’s Venture Corp.
Carol
Operating PartnerCarol Strobel is the Operating Partner and Investor Relations at Redpoint eventures. Carol has huge experience in the startup and innovation ecosystem. She has been the Legal Director of Intel Capital for Latin America, focusing on Venture Capital, Private Equity and Mergers and Acquisitions for over a decade. She also worked as director of innovation at Restoque, responsible for proprietary technologies, new business models and digital transformation. She holds a master’s degree in International Business Law from the University of Sheffield, UK and a bachelor’s degree from the Federal University of Paraná School of Law. She used to be an advisor to ABVCAP (Brazilian Association of Venture Capital and Private Equity (ABVCAP) and is an Advisor to Anjos do Brasil.
Jeff
Partner Fund Redpoint eventuresAs a partner at Redpoint eventures, Jeff Brody invests in consumer and large [CK3] companies created by inspired founders that target exceptional markets. He is highly motivated by the development of markets and business models not yet imagined. His specific areas of interest include marketplaces, mobile business, networked hardware services and financial innovations. His current investments include: BitGo, Brandless, Global Playground, HomeAway (AWAY), Kodiak Networks, PSafe, Receivables Exchange and Viajanet. Some of his notable previous investments are: Concur Technologies (CNQR), Danger, Fraud Sciences, GetThere (GTHR), LifeSize Communications, Loopnet (LOOP), mySimon, NextCard (NXCD), Onebox, ViaVideo, Web TV and ZING Systems.
Prior to joining Redpoint eventures[CK4] , he worked at Brentwood Venture Capital, Comdisco Ventures and Crosspoint Venture Partners. Earlier in his career, Jeff co-founded a mobile telecommunications company and served as a field engineer at Schlumberger Ltd. in Europe and Africa.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from U.C. Berkeley and is a member of Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business. He is currently chair of the Venture Capital Subcommittee of the Stanford Business School Trust.
Manoel
Managing PartnerPrior to collaborating with Redpoint eventures, Manoel Lemos served as Chief Digital Officer at Grupo Abril, the second largest media conglomerate in Brazil. Earlier in his career, he worked as a software engineer, solution architect, and internet specialist for local businesses, the Brazilian government and the European community.
As an entrepreneur, Manoel founded and developed BlogBlogs, the world’s largest Portuguese blog indexer, which was bought by Abril/Naspers, giving rise to WebCo, Brazil’s first Web 2.0 product development startup, with a culture strongly inspired by Silicon Valley. Manoel led WebCo as its founder and CEO.
Prior to BlogBlogs, Manoel was the CTO of Hypercom Brazil, a leading provider of payment solutions for the credit card and banking industries. He is the founder and Chief Maker at Fazedores.com, the first portal dedicated to the Brazilian Maker Movement community, which aims to promote culture in the country and to be a hub for local makers to exchange ideas, collaborate and promote their projects.
Manoel holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Unicamp, where he worked as a researcher for several years and started a master’s degree in high-performance computing. He holds an ACE from the Sloan Business School at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and has attended executive education programs in media strategy at Harvard Business School and venture investment at the Hass Business School at the University of California, Berkeley.
Mathias
Partner Fund E.VenturesMathias Schilling is co-founder and Managing Partner of e.ventures. He is currently responsible for the company’s investments in companies such as Angie’s List, AppFolio, Eucalyptus, Groupon, Shango, Sonos and Yume Networks. He began his career at Bertelsmann, Europe’s largest media company, where he worked on various mergers and acquisitions and joint ventures, including Amazon, AOL Studios, Barnes & Noble.com and CompuServe. In 1997, he joined the founding team to create the venture capital firm BV Capital (now known as e.ventures), where he became Managing Partner in 2004.
Mathias was born and raised in Switzerland and is a German citizen. He holds a master’s degree in Finance from the University of St. Gallen, one of Europe’s leading business schools. He serves as a director of the Dignity Fund and the Discovery Museum in San Francisco.
Romero
Managing PartnerPrior to joining the Redpoint eventures team, Romero Rodrigues was co-founder and CEO of Buscapé, a comparison shopping service, launched in 1999. As CEO, Romero led more than 20 acquisitions (from payment to classifieds) and helped the company to raise four rounds of investment. In 2009, Naspers, the South African group, acquired 91 percent shares of Buscapé in a valuation of $ 374 million. In November 2013, Romero took over as Global CEO of Comparison Shopping at Naspers, managing businesses in 3 continents and 18 countries.
He also dedicates his time to Endeavor, a nonprofit organization, where he acts as a donor, mentor and served as board member from 2012 to 2018. Currently he is a board member of ABFintechs, Viajanet, Pismo, Repassa, Vittude, Kzas and Housi. Previously he served several boards, including listed companies such as TOTVS in São Paulo and Wayfair in New York.
As an angel investor in the past, Romero invested in 25 startups in Brazil, United States, UK and South Africa.
Romero holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the Polytechnic School of the University of São Paulo (USP) and GSB SEP from Stanford University
